Career Transition | Managing Staff Changes

Career transition

Organisational imperatives sometimes mean you need to retrench someone. It's never a pleasant experience.

However, a proactive approach to career transition can help avoid costly unfair dismissal claims and the damage to company reputation and goodwill that can sometimes arise when retrenchments go wrong.

At EPR, we work with both HR and the outgoing employee to achieve a smooth career transition that avoids these problems.

Our career transition service provides intensive coaching to manage the transition process.

We help the client develop a clear understanding of his or her best career options and develop a career plan that may include relevant occupational training courses.

We also work intensively to hone his or her career management skills. This includes a host of things: from search strategies, networking skills and application preparation to presentation, interviewing and negotiation skills that help them concisely articulate their value proposition to potential employers.

As well as assisting with preparation of self-marketing materials, including resumes and covering letters, we also provide access to secretarial support services for resume preparation, letters of application, facsimile, telephone, research facilities and marketing support services.

This not only facilitates the process of them finding a new and appropriate position, it also helps in their retaining a positive attitude toward your organisation.
